Hi my name is Joelle! I’ve been playing volleyball for around 10 years as a setter and I’m committed to continue my career at the University of Michigan–Dearborn this fall. I’m currently a senior at Airport High School, where I also played basketball and ran track for a few years. Volleyball has always been a huge part of my life, and I’m passionate about helping players improve their skills, build confidence, and learn the value of teamwork! 

I’ve been playing volleyball for about 10 years, including 7 years of club experience as a libero/defensive specialist. I’m currently a 2026 graduate at Airport High School, where I’ve also been a varsity basketball player and track athlete. I love the competitive side of sports, but what matters most to me is helping athletes build confidence, improve their skills, and truly enjoy the game! 

Coach Jackie LaPointe was a multi sport varsity athlete who graduated from Gabriel Richard High School.  She earned her bachelor’s and specialist degrees from the University of Detroit Mercy and is a licensed school psychologist.  She has nearly 20 years of coaching experience at various levels including varsity, junior varsity, club, CYO and recreational teams.  Jackie’s passion for volleyball is evident in the positive, supportive learning environment she creates while encouraging young athletes to gain skills and confidence.  She enjoys raising her three daughters and watching them compete in a variety of sports in their community. 

Coach Gwen Geiger is an Airport graduate who competed in Varsity basketball, volleyball and softball and played softball in college while earning a degree in science and graduating as a radiologic technologist in Xray.  She is currently a CT 3D technologist in Structural Heart Cardiology. Gwen began coaching right out of highschool has coached on and off the past 28 years from Varsity down to beginners! She loves watching her son and daughter on the field or court doing what they love. Her goal as a coach is to build confidence, teach fundamentals and create a love for the game!
